篇首语

我受王路先生之邀，作为中国北京清华大学出版的《世界建筑》杂志印度建筑专辑的特约编辑。起初我为此激动不已，但之后我就意识到，要想展示印度建筑的庞大传统，将历史与现实都囊括在120页的容量之内是多么艰难。我接受了他的邀请，并到访北京，进行与专辑相关的多方面讨论。

I was requested by Ar. Wang Lu, to become a gust editor for a speciat issue on Indian architecture, for World Architecture magazine published from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Initially I was feature the huge tradition of Indian architecture, past and present in to one volume of hundred and twenty pages. I accepted his request and visited Beijing for further discussions on many aspects related the special issue.
