Understanding Community

通过对社区发展的历史及与之相对应的思想史的考察,文章界定了社区的含义,认为作为人类的共同体,社区是在社会的自然发展过程中形成的,是作为生命个体的人类彼此相互的基本需要,在本质上它把个体连接在一起,通过参与共同体事务,为共同体服务来满足个体的生存和发展的需要,它也是公民社会的形式和表现形态之一。社区的要素包括区位、人群、组织、共同的意识等。

This paper defines the meanings of community based on looking at the history both of community development and the thoughts of community. As basic need for human beings, community has its own development process and can organize individuals to participate in public affairs, to meet the needs of individual development and survival. Community is also one of style of civil societal organizations. The elements of community include location, groups, organizations and common sense.
