This paper analyzes the fiber root number calculation and its meaning in fine yam section. It raises doubt about the widely applied fiber root number calculation formula and deduces the formula of calculating fine yam and fiber density. It also introduces the testing data of fiber and fine yam, comparatively analyzes USTER statistic value and commonly used data which need to be checked up due to great difference. From the section fiber calculation formula, it deduces the cal6ulation formula of transforming from the fiber root number percentage of mixed yarn combination to weight percentage and the calculation formula of the yam diameter.
