An Analysis of Franoise in She Came to Stay

弗朗索瓦兹是一个职业知识女性,她自由独立,我行我素,拒绝世俗的婚姻模式,甚至拒绝日常的家庭生活。但是她的理智与情感时常处于矛盾状态,她有时很坚强,很自信,有时又为缺少女性特质而不安,所以在她身上仍然体现了女性被动的地位和他者的身分。

Francoise is a professional intellectual female. She is free and independent. She refuses the mundane marriage, even refuses the daily family life. But her reason and sentiment are always in contradiction. Sometimes she is strong and has a self- confidence, sometimes she is worried about being short of femininity. So she is still a passive female and has an identification of ＂the other＂.
