This article introduces the soft news and its translating features, with the analysis of the characteristics of information dissemination of C-E translation of soft news in light of functionalist translation theory, the author concludes that the C-E translation of soft news can break the shackles of the traditional translating theories by the adoption of appropriate adjustment, addition, deletion and other means so as to achieve a better effect of information propagation.
