In the teaching of vocal music, teachers＇ professional competence and personal cultivation will to large degree decide the teaching quality. The paper explores five qualities a vocal music teacher should have under the new circumstance, namely artistic and moral standards, theoretical knowledge of vocal music, the education science, strong teaching ability and aesthetical competence.
