《汉字学论稿》述评

Comment on Studies on Chinese Characters

本文从汉字字体演变的四个阶段说、假借的转声托事与转注、汉字发展的三个阶段说、汉字是指义标音文字说四个方面评述肖甫春的《汉字学论稿》,认为该书以转声托事为津梁,成功地解决了转注问题,把造字法与汉字历史发展统一在一起,得出对汉字性质新的认识,这是一种汉字学基础理论的创新与突破。

The paper comments on Xiao Fuchun＇s monograph Studies on Chinese Characters from the four-stage doctrine of the evolution of the form of Chinese characters, the mutually explanatory characters and the polyphonic polysemous characters in phonetic loan characters, the three-stage doctrine of the development of Chinese characters and the doctrine of Chinese characters being the ones that denmnstrate their meanings with images and mark with phonetic symbols. It holds that, taking the polyphonic polysemous characters as a guide, that monograph successfully solves the problem of mutually explanatory characters, unifies the Chi- nese character-making method with the historical development of Chinese characters, and obtains a new understanding of the nature of Chinese characters. It is a new breakthrough in the basic theory of the studies of Chinese characters.
