The modernist literature of the 1930s was formed as a result of the interaction among readers, editors and authors. Shi Zhectm＇s civilianized editing idea gave rise to the readers＇ criticism space in the Modem times magazine. This readers＇ space of independence and equality cultivated readers＇ cultural identity and their challenges of the authority of authors and editors. In the communication with editors and authors, the readers contributed to the discourse construction of the modernist literature.
