To become a lean and eff icient manufacture-oriented company,Panasonic should step up its global marketing efforts as well as enhance innovation across the organization.Indeed,a 'manufacture-oriented' company is somewhat different from a typical 'manufacturing company' in Konosuke Matsushita’s time in that the former emphasizes both technological and manufacturing strengths.Panasonic has claimed that it will ensure the competitiveness of its products by enhancing 'black box' technologies,i.e.technologies not easily imitable by the competition.Protected by IP laws,such sophisticated materials,processes and technical knowledge are used to manufacture products that can not be copied by rivals.
