摘要 2008年10月29日晚,一场稍显特殊的会面在苏州举行。面对100多名来自中国各地的乡村医生,GE医疗集团的工程师努力用简洁易懂的语言,把一台半人来高的新型彩色超声仪讲解清楚。过去一年多里,这款专为中国农村市场开发的系列医疗设备,已从黑白升级到彩色,新功能不断增加,而体积却更小,操作更简便,售价也始终定在相对保守的范围。 As pessimism pervades the world,Omar,President and CEO of Clinical System Division of GE Medical Group,has this big question to answer-where to achieve new breakthroughs for the 4.9-billion-dollar business under his management.The most likely place certainly is not the United States or Europe,nor is it India or Africa probably—it should be China.'In the long run,we do need to be prepared for the economic slowdown,but we don't have to be so pessimistic' he says,'Through new technologies and products,we are still able to identify growth opportunities,and I have great expectations for China.' However,it must be a hard and long struggle.How will GE win this vast,unfamiliar and complex market?
