Finally, Americans elected a black man as their president. Absentee ballot was a bit too cumbersome for me to handle, so, being a good expatriate, I followed the election all morning on November 5th on CNN and MSNBC in my apartment in Beijing. By the time the outcome of the election had become decisive for Senator Barack Obama, everyone, American or not, realized that US history had turned a new page.
