A Preliminary Probe into Economic Nationalism in Early Modern England

经济民族主义是近代欧洲民族主义的基本形态之一。近代早期英国经济民族主义以王朝政府为后盾,以重商主义为依托,对英国社会发展起到了重要作用。它将文化认同与经济举措相结合,将君主利益与商人利益相联结,以经济政策作为支撑,适应了当时英国社会发展的需要,形成为一种实实在在的国家共识,有力地推动了英国近代民族国家的建构,并最终促成了国家的转型。

Economic nationalism is one of the basic forms of nationalism. Supported by the English Monarchy and Mercantilism, economic nationalism played an important part in the social development in early modern England. By combining cultural identity with economic initiatives, monarchic interests with merchants＇, economic nationalism not only adapted to the trend of social development, but also helped to reach a national consent which greatly pushed forward the nation - state building of modern England.
