体育现代化是在社会现代化的发展进程中,指向未来体育发展目标且具有阶段性特征的水平状态和发展过程。在社会文化学层面上,它表现为体育物质条件现代化、体育制度现代化和人的体育观念现代化三个层面;在现代化认知层面上,它表现为体育现代化的动力表征、体育现代化的质量表征和体育现代化的公平表征。

Sports modernization is a level state and developing process amid social modernization. It points to future sports development goals and has stage characteristics. In the social cultural science level, it manifests itself as the modernization of sports material condition, of sports system and of people＇s sports conception. In the modern cognition level, it manifests itself as the driving force representation, the quality representation and the equality representation of sports modernization.
