The paper analyzes the various callses of the thickness oversize at plate head end in the medium plate rolling plant of Handan Iron and steel Corp. Ltd, describes the principle of tbe immersion compensation at plate head and the realization method based on the application of roll gap immersion compensation on HAGC controls for reducing the thickness oversize at plate head, which has already received good result on resolving the thickness oversize problem.
