《史记》描写了一大批悲剧事件,塑造了许多悲剧人物群像,对悲剧人物的命运给予了深厚的同情,对悲剧背后的根源进行了不懈的追问,对悲剧人物与命运抗争的精神给予了毫无保留的讴歌。与中国文化高度成熟乃至衰微时期产生的悲剧作品不同,《史记》表现了中华民族在早期成长历程中勇于与悲剧命运相搏斗的元气淋漓的生命力。

The Historical Records describes lots of tragic events and has molded the large quantities of tragic characters. Deep sympathy was shown to the tragic characters, a close examining was carried on to the root of the tragedy and the eulogy was finally delivered to the spirit of the tragic characters who resisted the destiny directly. Thus, different with other tragedies in the same era, the work portraits the courage of Chinese people to fight against destiny in the run of maturing.
