曾到西藏从军过的文学界的"白衣天使"毕淑敏,面对随商品经济大潮而来的欲望膨胀的社会现实产生了深深的忧患意识,在后期小说中对正在演变的纷繁复杂的现实生活进行了扫描与探讨,关注普通人的日常生活,展开了对生命和死亡的意义和价值的探讨和对女性生存的关注,体现了悲悯的情怀与救赎的意识。

Bi Shumin , a doctor , who has been a soldier in Tibet , had a profound knowledge of the present society full of desire facing the commodity economy. In her late novels, she scanned and described the complex living, concerning the ordinary life, focusing on life value and death, especially about women. Her writing was endowed with compassion redemption awareness.
