This paper analyses the practices of new town construction in developed countries or regions detailedly. It summarizes the experiences in new town construction from the aspect of policy, fund,attraction, scale and industry, etc. , finally, four enlightenments are obtained, they are stones from another hill and copinism, scales from the point of regional view and personality creation, benefit pursuit and humanism, sustainahility and balanced development. It is expected to give references to the future new town movement.
