摘要
在完整的二维光子晶体中引入线缺陷,就形成了光子晶体波导。将七光子晶体单模波导的相互耦合看成一个多模干涉系统。在多模干涉系统中,本征模的色散曲线相交并出现简并模,简并模之间存在强烈耦合并导致模式的分布方式重新发生变化。本文基于自成像效应的波导多模偶合,提出了一种二维光子晶体波导四端口分束器。采用时域有限差分法和平面波法作为研究工具,TE模为研究对象,从理论上分析了这种器件的特性。结果表明,通过调节介质柱半径R,来改变耦合区电磁场的相位分布,从而控制四个输出端口的能量分布。

In this letter, a 4 - port two - dimensional photonic crystals splitter is proposed on the basis of multimode interference effect and self - imaging principle. The optical properties of the 4 - port coupler device have been demonstrated for TM polarization by FDTD and PCW method. Results show that propagation direction of the out- put optical power in each output port of the device can be tuned by reducing the radii of the medium in the photonic crystals.
