Low Bit Rate Speech Coding Techniques

近几年来，人类的通信方式在迅速变化。传统的有线电话网通话方式不再是人们唯一可信赖的通信方式。相反人们研究低比特率的语音编码技术并且力求寻找在较低的计算复杂度下能够产生高质量语音的新算法。这篇文章，我们试图向读者介绍低比特率语音的相关技术，例如，理论基础，性能问题，以及几种典型算法。最后，文章介绍了一种低速率的高质量语音系统。

In recent years, the way in which people communicate is changing rapidly. No longer is the conventional voice call over a wired network the only reasonable and reliable method of transmitting information. Techniques for coding voiced speech at low bit rates are investigated and new algorithm, designed to produce high quality speech with low complexity, is proposed. In this paper, we attempt to show some techniques about low bit rate speech coding, such as theoretical foundation, performance issues, and several typical algorithms. In the end of the paper, we have discussed a system with superior voice quality based on low bit speech coding techniques.
