Sodium Tetraphenyl Borate: A New Type of Chemiluminescence Enhancer for Horseradish Peroxidase Catalyzed Oxidation of Luminol

Sodium tetraphenyl borate enhances the light emission from the horseradish peroxidase catalyzed oxidation of luminol by hydrogen peroxide. Optimization study showed that the greatest enhancement was obtained using micromolar concentrations of the new enhancer. HRP assay was established using this novel CL system. The detection limit is 3. 0 fmol for HRP and the linear range extends from 6 to 50 fmol. The relative standard deviation of HRP was 1. 5% for 15 fmol HRP (n=11).
