Application of GIS to Solid Waste Management and Planning

文章在综合阅读国内外文献资料的基础上,结合计算机技术和GIS的发展,详细阐述了GIS在固体废弃物管理规划中的研究应用现状、存在的问题及其发展趋势。文章首先介绍了GIS的功能及其在环境保护特别是在固体废弃物管理规划中的应用,然后针对固体废弃物管理规划中存在的具体问题,指出了应用GIS技术对固体废弃物进行管理规划的方便性、灵活性和可视化优势之所在,强调了通过加强GIS在固体废弃物管理规划应用中的完整性和普适性,并逐步实现网络化,必将大大提高固体废弃物的管理和决策的科学性、规范性和可靠性。

Based on documentations as well as the development of computer technology and geographic information system （GIS）, status, problem and direction on study and application of GIS to management and planning of solid waste was introduced, including function of GIS and its application in the field of environment protection and in management and planning of solid waste. It was found that application of GIS to assisting the management and planning of solid waste was visual and flexible. By advancing comprehensive program and universality in solid waste management and planning by GIS and network GIS, the development of solid waste management and planning will be highly improved.
