图式理论与大学英语阅读教学

摘要 英语阅读是学习英语的主要手段。传统的英语阅读教学方法只重视词汇、语法等语言知识的学习,而图式理论则通过激活学生头脑中的认知结构来提高学生的阅读理解能力。该理论认为阅读理解的过程就是新信息与大脑中原有知识相互作用的过程。通过对图式理论与阅读理解关系的探讨,进一步明晰提高英语阅读教学效果的途径和方法。 Reading is one of the main means to study English and an important aspect to promote and demonstrate the learners' abilities. Traditional teaching methods attach too much importance to the study of language points such as vocabulary and grammar, while the Schema Theory pays more attention to activating the students' internal cognitive structure to improve their reading abi!ity. Observed from this perspective, reading comprehension is virtually an interaction between the pre-existent knowledge and the newly input messages. This paper, by illustrating the relations between Schema Theory and reading comprehension, uncovers the approaches and methods to strengthen the effects of English reading teaching.
