什么是社会主义,怎样建设社会主义,是建设中国特色社会主义首要的基本理论问题,也是一个需要在实践中不断深化认识的重大课题。建国以来,历代党的领导集体围绕这个问题进行了艰辛的探索,取得了重大的理论成果和实践成果,丰富和发展了马克思主义社会主义本质理论。

What is socialism？ How to construct socialism？ These are not only the two prime and fundamental theory questions in establishing socialism with Chinese characteristics, but also important tasks that require our deeper understanding in practice. Since the establishment of PRC, successive CPC leaders have made arduous explorations on those questions, and have come out with significant theoretical and practical achievements, which enrich and further develop the socialist essence theory of Marxism.
