The eminent writer Jia Ping＇ ao of west China and his literary works have become a wonderful cultural phenomenon. Though having aroused much controversy, Jia is steadfastly dedicated to literature. The versatile writer is known as a strange but gifted figure and his works teem with beautiful turns of thoughts and unexpected changes, magnificent and diversified, all greatly significant to the cultural progress of the Chinese literature. For years, jia and his literary works have been guiding the development of ＂roots＂ literature, literature about the three agricultural problems, and vanguard literature in China. His fulfillment has greatly enhanced the influences of Chinese literature, demonstrating that China＇s literary creation has reached the world level and that he is the pride of Shan- nxi, west China or even the whole country. Further, he has exited the enthusiasm of the Chinese people on literature. So far, the study on Jia and his works has been developed into a distinguished school with typical cultural significance.
