摘要
语言是社会的产物,文化的载体。在分析了中西方国家产生文化差异的原因基础上,阐述了中西方分别在词汇意义、审美取向、颜色用语、日常生活用语等方面的具体不同体现,从而揭示出在现代英语教学中了解文化差异的必要性,突出了文化的重要性。
Language is the product of society and the carrier of culture. This paper explains the reasons why there exist differences between English and Chinese. Then the concrete differences about the lexicon, aesthetic taste, color words and daily words between English and Chinese are presented. Therefore, culture is important in English teaching and it is necessary to learn cultural differences between English and Chinese.
