Reflections on the Phenomenon of Dispelling Shame

"去羞耻化"是近年来中国社会出现的一种消解羞耻感的反道德现象。它是对中国传统文化特质的弱化,是对中国人伦理底线的毁损。它淡化"群体意识",挑战"面子至上"。通过对中国耻感文化的探讨,我们认为,羞耻感是人之为人的底线,是追求荣誉、远离耻辱的精神力量,是抵御不良诱惑的道德堤坝,是酿造良风美俗的肥田沃土;加强耻感教育、提升人格境界、保护人格尊严、践履行己有耻是扭转"去羞耻化"倾向的有效途径。

Dispelling shame is an anti-moral phenomenon of clearing up shame. This is a phenomenon found in China in recent years. It reduces the traits of traditional Chinese culture and destroys the foundation of Chinese ethics. It diminishes the sense of community and challenges the idea that dignity is the most important. By discussing Chinese shame culture, we regard that the sense of shame is the lowest demand of being a normal human being, the moral strength of pursuing honor and keeping oneself away from shame, the moral dam of resisting the bad temptation, and the fertile field of breeding good customs. We consider that strengthening the education of shame, developing the realm of personality, protecting the dignity of personality, and abiding by the behavior norm with shame sense are effective ways of reversing the trend of dispelling shame.
