The correction of hip part of a special figure trouser pattern was selected as an example to summarize the structure change law of trouser pattern and fulfill the knowledge acquisition of the expert system. By the establishment of method library and rule library, the expert knowledge applied. Through the parameterized design, expert knowledge was described so as to set up a pattern design and correction system with artificial intelligence. Such a system is an automatic pattern design system for special figures developed with modern design method, in which technician＇s experiences are used for reference and utilized; thereby changing the clothing structure design to be a creative work. It also riches the professional clothing material database and fills the material blank of the special figures for CAD technology.
