The Chinese Rites Controversy was a very important thing in Catholic history, which the Pope and Chinese emperors were involved in. The controversy had a deep effect on the cultural exchange between China and the West in 17th and 18th century. Around it, each Catholic sect argued very fiercely. Lazarist Don Teodorieo Pedrini＇s change from opposing Chinese rites to supporting it showed that the Chinese Rites Controversy was a cultural collision in a large part, which also showed that Chinese and western culture did not recognize each other until they clashed and collided.
