１９９７年广东省外经贸在稳中求进、有效发展的指导原则下，深化改革，开拓进取，继续保持进出口贸易和实际利用外资的有效增长，各方面都取得较好的成绩，但也存在一些问题。１９９８年的形势总的看法是乐观的，既有希望，也有困难；既有机遇，也有挑战。１９９８年全省外经贸工作的指导思想是：高举邓小平理论伟大旗帜，认真贯彻落实党的十五大精神，进一步解放思想，深化外贸体制改革，积极合理有效地利用外资，大力推进大经贸态势的发展，保持外经贸的持续稳定有效增长。

AbstractThe year 1997 saw the stable progress of foreign economy and trade in Guangdong.Under the guiding principle of proficient development,this province carried out the reform in depth with an initiative and progressive spirit and kept on maintaining an efficient growth in both export and import trade and use of foreign funds,achieving better results in every respect,in spite of some problems.The year 1998 will see an optimistic situation by and large,with both hope and difficulty,both opportunity and challenge.The guiding thinking for this year concerning the foreign economy and trade in the province is :to hold aloft the great banner of Deng Xiaoping,earnestly implement and put into effect the Party's spirit of the 15th Plenary Session to further emancipate the mind,reform the foreign trade system in depth,actively,reasonably and efficiently use the foreign funds,give a big push to the development of large economy and trade so that the whole province will maintain a stable and efficient growth of the foreign economy and trade.
