The challenges China is now facing and the counter measures

此文系成思危先生2008年6月25日在西北大学所作的讲演记录稿,经作者10月份校对修改。讲演分析了中国经济面临的挑战,提出了应对危机的对策,认为如果能切实提高投资效益,化解好流动性过剩陷阱,在保持经济平稳较快增长和控制通货膨胀之间找到平衡,中国经济将有可能避免美国经济下滑的影响,在较长时期内保持7%以上的增长率。

This article is a recorded speech delivered by Mr. CHENG Si -wei at the Northwest University on June 25,2008 ,in which the challenges China is facing today in economy were analyzed and the counter measures are to be adopted. It is believed that only if China improves the effeciency of investment, reduces the floating trade surplus and keeps the balance between stable and rapid development of economy and the currency inflation control- ling is it possible for China to avoid the influence caused by the U. S. economic meltdown and maintain the economic growth rate at more than 7% annually.
