On the Economic Ethical Concepts of De George

By analyzing three aspects of the main contents on Economic Ethics developed by De George, this thesis thinks that the Economic Ethical Concepts of De George can be reduced to three points. Firstly, on the fundamental level, the contemporary Economic Ethical problem is the disconnection between economic and ethics. Secondly, the main task of contemporary Economic Ethics consists in bettering the relationship between economic and ethics in reality and reconstructing their connection by integrating the theories and practice of economic ethics. Thirdly, as a subject of application, the fundamental research route of Economic Ethics is to find out a bridge between theories and practice of economic ethics. The method of ethical displacement can be interpreted as a concrete example of his conceptions. The Economic Ethical Concepts of De George can be a reference to our understanding of contemporary Western research on economic ethics and the development of Chinese economic ethical theories.
