Li Hongzhang in the Eyes of Liang Qichao

基于梁启超所著《李鸿章》一书,归纳分析梁启超对李鸿章的看法。梁认为李鸿章是"真将将之才"的兵家,是"为时势所造"的洋务"英雄",是"应龙入井"的外交家;认为把晚清近四十年来之失政"皆归于李之一人",将"怨毒集于李之一身"是不公道的。梁与李"政治上为公敌",然能以公平之心为史,所述凿凿,所论淳淳,为今天评价李鸿章提供了一个值得认真审视的视野。

Inductive analysis of Liang Qiehao＇s opinion on Li Hongzhang is made based on the book, Li Hongzhang written by Liang. In the eyes of Liang, Li is a military strategist with ＂genuine commander talent＂, a Westernization ＂hero produced by the times＂, and a diplomat ＂restrained by the circum- stance＂. He thinks that it is unfair to put all the blame on Li for the 40 years＇ political failure of late Qing dynasty. In fact, Liang and Li are ＂political enemies＂ ; however, Liang can still make a record of Li in such a fair way, which provides a valuable perspective on commenting Li Hongzhang.
