The Status and Prospects for the Wood Industry in East China

通过概述华东地区原木加工、人造板、地板和家具等产业的现状,提出科技在行业发展中的作用,强调了专利、标准和品牌在引领行业发展中的地位及对行业进步的贡献率,分析目前存在的主要技术瓶颈,提出"十二五"期间的主要任务和内容,展望了预期的经济、社会和环境效益与产业化前景。

East China, where 60% of China＇s forest resource is consumed, is the most developed region in China in the areas of economy, science, and technology. This paper presents a review of the latest technology and product developments in China＇s wood industry including log processing, wood-based panel manufacturing, and secondary wood product processing in the eastern region of China. Furthermore, some key barriers in promoting sustainable wood products are identified and the technological demands for China＇s wood industry are discussed. It is found that the intellectual property, product standards, and marketable brands play an important role in the wood product industry. Finally, research tasks during the next national Twelfth Five-Year Plan period are proposed and the expected economic benefits, social benefits and ecological benefits are analyzed.
