“民族志”译名的歧见——从几部“中国民族志”教材说起

The Different Opinions of the Ethnography Translation:Taking Several Chinese Ethnography Textbooks as Examples

中国民族学的发展、与西方民族学理论的对话以及中国社会的变迁,推动了"中国民族志"教材撰写思路的变化,对于"少数民族志"与"社区民族志"的深入讨论有益于学科界限的扩展。将"ethnography"翻译成"民族志"已成为中国民族学界的共识。然而,近年来出现另造新词或沿用"人种志"翻译的做法,应该引起学界的重视。

The development of Chinese Ethnography , the communication with Western Ethnography theories and the transition of Chinese society, have promoted the change in the editing idea of Chinese Ethnogra- phy textbook, and the further discussion of Minority Ethnography and Community Ethnography is also beneficial to extending the subject limit. It has been a common view in Chinese Ethnology academe that the translation of Ethnography is Minzuzhi. However, the translation way of forming a new word or use Renzhongzhi in recent years should attract attention of the academe.
