从句子和篇章的层面,探讨在确保词语翻译准确的前提下,如何提高译文质量。对政府工作报告中节选内容的衔接纽带进行定量分析,应用Matlab软件将其量化,比较了两篇译文衔接的差异,直观地体现了衔接在翻译中的重要性。通过上述分析,提出在汉英时政翻译中,应采取形式最大保留、意义整体把握和衔接功能对等等策略,以确保译文的达意、连贯和流畅。衔接手段使时政汉英翻译在行文上更加符合英文规范,其应用对提高翻译实践能力具有积极的指导意义。

The thesis does not discuss how to translate literal meaning of words in political statements, but tries to study translation from the angles of sentential and textual levels on the premise of the faithful translation of words. The author applies Microsoft Matlab to analyze an extract from Government Work Report, and contrasts the cohesive ties in its two English versions to prove the importance of cohesion in translation. Finally the thesis proposes that some strategies： maximum preservation, integrated management and functional equivalence can ensure a faithful and fluent text in Chinese-English translation of political statements. Cohesive devices are crucial in translation of political statements to make target text conform to the norms of English language, and its application is instructively beneficial.
