Freedom and Order under the Background of the Contemporary Times

自由和秩序一直是社会理论中的重要议题,在不同的历史时期,有其各自所表现出的特点及倾向。通过比较自由和秩序可以得出二者之间互相制衡、互依互存的关系。从自由是目的,秩序是手段;自由是秩序的土壤,秩序是自由的保障的角度提出人类生活的理想模式应该是自由与秩序的和谐统一。同时,也希望能为我们构建和谐社会做一些有益的理论探索。

Freedom and order have always been important topics in the social theory. Each of them shows their different characteristics and tendency in different periods. By comparing freedom and order, we can see that the two are interdependent and mutually constrained： freedom is the purpose and order is the method; freedom is the soil of order and order is the guard of freedom. Based on the relationship between the two, the paper proposes that the ideal of human life should be a model of freedom and order in harmony. It is hoped that the present study could do some contributions to the theoretical explorations into building a harmonious society.
