晚清时期,面对着中国社会的危机,管子思想倡导的富国强兵理念成为人们救时之良策。以王树楠为代表的晚清士人对管子思想进行重新进行解读和认知,在"尊王变法"、"商战攘夷"、"兴商富国"等方面赋予管子思想新时代的内涵。

When they were faced with social crisis in the late Qing Dynasty, some Chinese people came to realize that the idea of ＂enriching the country and strengthening the military force＂, put forward by Guan Zi, was the best way for China to survive. Wang Shunan, a representative of this group of people, reinterpreted and developed many ideas of Guan Zi, such as ＂respecting the king and political reform＂, ＂expelling barbarians through business＂, ＂developing business to make the country prosperous＂, to name just a few.
