摘要
尺寸是地图符号的最基本视觉变量之一,人们通过对符号尺寸的视觉判断和比较形成对定量地理信息的认知。作者提出了一种适用于等级符号法制图的尺寸设计方法,其特点是使等级系列圆的面积变化遵循斐波纳奇数列规则。论文分析认为,一方面该方法可以在一定程度上补偿人们视觉认知中的低估量;另一方面,与经典的Meihoefer系列圆、Dent系列圆相比,其数学上的规律性既便于制图者灵活掌握,在数字制图软件中也易于实现,因而具有较大的实用性。
Size is one of the primary visual variables. Map user would recognize quantitative data according to judgment and comparison of symbol sizes. This paper proposed a new method for size design in range graded mapping. The method made the area of graduated circles follow Fibonaeci series. The graduated circles developed by the method would counteract underestimate in judgment of size. And they are easy to use comparing with classical graduated circles such as Meihoefer's circles and Dent's circles for their mathematic rule.
