妇女是社会的弱势群体,单亲母亲是弱势群体中的弱者。对单亲母亲进行的专项社会调查所得资料表明,单亲母亲面临着下岗失业、经济窘困、子女的抚养和教育、心理障碍和心理压力、生活突发事件威胁等多方面的问题。动员社会力量,对贫困单亲母亲实行社会救助,切实解决她们的民生问题,对于妇女解放和构建和谐社会具有重大的现实意义和深远的历史意义。

Women is a social disadvantaged group, of which single mothers are the most disadvantaged ones. The specific investigation of single mothers shows that single mothers encounter problems like unemployment, economic embarrassment, raising and educating children, psychological obstacles and mental pressures, and emergencies in life. Mobilizing social forces to offer social assistance to single mothers in poverty and solve their living difficulties are of great practical and historical meanings for women＇ s emancipation and construction of harmonious society.
