对无损评价的服务内容、手段、基本过程及其内涵进行分析。对无损评价与无损检测的关系进行研究。研究表明，无损评价具备综合性、预见性、实证性、导向性、客观公正性等诸多特征，是一门综合性的应用科学技术。在无损评价过程中，无损检测是获取实证性信息数据的主要手段。无损评价需要无损检测的结果作为支撑，却又超越了无损检测的范畴。

The service content, means, basic process and connotation of non-destructive evaluation (NDE)are analyzed. The relationship of NDE and non-destructive testing (NDT) is also discussed. lt is shown that NDE is a synthetical applied science and technology with a series of characteristics. These characteristics include those are synthetic, foresight, demonstrable,leading, objective and judicial. In the process of NDE, NDT is the main way to obtain the practical information and data. NDE needs the results of NDT as a support, but it overpasses the field of NDT.
