U.S. Naval Postgraduate School （NPS） is the pioneer military graduate school; however, it was caught in a dilemma at the turn of the century. Facing the fierce critiques from the outside, NPS conducted bold reforms such as broadening the service market, improving the education quality and increasing the defense relevance in teaching and research. The experience of NPS reform can be drawn on for military education reform in our country.
