摘要
寻觅,是西方文学中的传统主题。人类永不停息的寻觅活动实则反映了作为主体的人对自身、对周围的客观世界以及主客体之间的关系迷惑不解,于是意欲在永无止境的寻觅中认识自己。本文试图通过对亨利.詹姆斯的中篇小说《阿斯彭文稿》中寻觅主题的解读,反映由于"上帝已死",人类在这个"失去天真的时代"的信仰缺失及精神迷惘。
Quest is one of. the traditional themes in western literature. People＇s incessant seeking activities are actually a reflection of their attempts to identify themselves during the endless quest, for they are always puzzled about themselves and the objective world around them, and about the relationship between the two. This essay tries to analyze the theme of quest in Henry James＇ novel The Aspern Papers , revealing man＇s lost belief and their spiritual perplexity in ＂the age of lost innocence＂, for ＂God is dead＂.
