摘要
隐喻是人类借助具体概念理解抽象概念的一种手段和思维方式。在汉英两种语言中皆存在时间——空间隐喻、时间——金钱隐喻、时间——实体隐喻,这说明时间的隐喻性思维具有跨文化相似性,它在一定程度上为思维决定语言提供了例证。
Metaphors are the way of thinking which is recognized through other concepts. In English and Chinese, there are time - space metaphor, time - money metaphor and time - entity metaphor, which shows the intercultural comparability of temporal metaphors and also proves that thinking detennines language.
