Quotational Studies:Theories and Problems

引语是人类言语交际中最普遍的现象之一，历来为语言哲学家所广泛关注，先后出现了各种理论，但每一种理论都只能解释一些问题，还没有哪一种理论能够对各类引语做出全面的解释。一般来说，传统的引语理论可以分为两大类，一类从语义的角度，另一类从语用的角度研究引语。我们比较倾向于把引语作为一个整体对待，对其主要做出认知语用上的解释。

Quotation is one of the commonest phenomena in verbal communication and has attracted an enormous amount of attention from philosophers. There have been many theories of quotations, but none of them has succeeded in providing an adequate interpretation of quotations in general. Classical theories of quotations can be classified into two types depending on whether they approach quotations from a semantic perspective or from a pragmatic perspeetive. We prefer to adopt a wholistic view of quotations approaching them from a cognitive pragmatic angle.
