The Value of Figurative Thoughts in Chinese-English Literary Translation

形象思维,作为一切艺术表达的共同特征和共同方法,对于再现文学作品的艺术性起着至关重要的作用。从小说和诗歌的角度,分析了形象思维是如何在翻译中展现原作的神韵和美感,避免呆板和僵硬的译作的。通过观察和分析,成功的译作,都是在利用形象思维的基础上,充分体现了中国文学的特色,使译作充满生机,从而为中国文化的发扬光大做出了应有的贡献。

Figurative thoughts, as the common character and basic method of art expression, have played an important role in reproducing artistry in literary output. From the viewpoint of novel and poem, this paper analyzes the value of thinking in images in displaying the beauty of the original work. It helps avoid the colorlessness and stiffness of translation works. By observing and analyzing, we find that thinking in images is the basis of successful literary works in translation and it fully reflects the characteristics of Chinese literary works.
