On Chen Tingjing's Clean Government Thought

清代康熙年间的文渊阁大学士陈廷敬在反贪倡廉、肃清吏治方面提出了重要的观点和措施,他的廉政思想和主张对于康熙帝整肃吏治和康熙朝的大政方针都发挥了显著的作用。陈廷敬在其一生的宦途中,尽管以清廉著称,但是仍经历了一次重大的挫折,那就是发生在康熙年间震动朝野的张汧贪黩案。陈廷敬因为和张汧是亲戚而受到了牵连,但很快就被洗雪。在长期的政治生涯中,陈廷敬始终奉行清正廉洁的做官准则,他的清廉作风被世人所公认,因此取得了康熙皇帝的赞赏和信任,成为康熙帝最倚重的大臣。

Chen Tingjing, a great scholar of Wenyuange during Kangxi time in Qing Dynasty, developed important thoughts and rectifyied official management, which had an important effect on Emperor Kangxi＇s clean government and major policies in the Qing Dynasty. Being a relative of Zhang Yan, Chen Tingjing was implicated in ＂Zhang Yan corruption and misconduct case＂ which shocked the whole country ,but was soon proved to be innocent. In his long-term political careeer, he had always followed the official guidelines of being clean and honest .His probity was well known by the people and was trusted and appreciated by Emperor who relied on him wery much.
