The article gives a brief introduction of Mr. Paul Krugman who was awarded the 2008’s Nobel Prize of eco-nomics and his main contribution to the science. It starts with a commentary introduction to the ‘old’ theories in both international trade and economic geography. The paper emphasized on Mr. Krugman’s major contribu-tions and the main feature of the ‘new’ theories. It concludes with some further comments on the policy signif-icance of his theory.
