This paper briefly introduces the Nobel Prize in chemistry 2007. The awarded to Germany scientists Gerhard Ertl for his initial studies of the surface chemistry . It is significant for academic research, agriculture, chemical industry,etc. His achievement has settled the foundation for the discipline of surface chemistry.
