Objective:To investigate the influence of different concentrations of matrine on the adhesion of candida albicans to human buccal epithelial cells. Method: C. albicans collection strain ATCC76615 was obtained and co-cultured with human buccal epithelial cells after following brief exposure to different concentrations of matfine in vitro. The numbers of adherent C. a]bicans were counted in 50 human buccal epithelial cells (BEC) after Grain stain.Result: Compared with the drug-free controls,C, albicans which were pretreated with matrine were seen have a significant reduction in adhension with BECs in vitro. C. albicans which were co-cultured with human BECs in vitro interfered by matrine demonstrated a decreased adhension to BECs.Conclusion: Matrine could inhibit C. albicans adhesion to human BECs in vitro.
