The historical tragedy of Soviet Union disintegration has made it possible for people to gain a good deal of enlightenment with heavy prices. During the socialist phase, national issues not only exist but also have a closely relationship with the consolidation and unity of socialist country. From national existence and its general principles in development, the influence of national heritage of old times and understanding and dealing of national contradictions, the paper mainly sets forth the protracted nature and flexibihty of national issues during the socialist phase.
